Rev. Jeff W. Wright
Pastor
Jeff was appointed to Allen Memorial in June of 2000. He is married to Sandy Roberts Wright who is a Registered Nurse and works as a Clinical Manager for Amedisys Home Health Care in Athens. They are the parents of two sons. Jared is a senior at Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens. Jordan is a freshman at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The family has one pet, Cooper, who is a mix of a beagle, blue tick hound, and Australian sheep dog.
Jeff is a graduate of Emory & Henry College and received his Masters of Divinity degree from the Divinity School at Duke University. Prior to coming to Allen Memorial, he served pastorates at the Salem United Methodist Church in Oxford, NC while in
seminary and at the Mountain View and Seven Mile Ford UMC’s near Chilhowie, VA and the Central (Bean Station) and Rutledge UMC’s in Grainger County, TN. He is active in local, District, and Conference ministries and is a second generation pastor, the son of Ruth Frye Wright and the late Rev. James Wright. His hometown is Saltville, VA and he graduated from Thomas Walker High School in Ewing, VA.
He loves to play golf and watch college sports. He is an avid Duke basketball and UT football fan. He also likes the UT men’s basketball and loves the Lady Vols. His other interests include music and eating.
Kathy J. Clark
Administrative Assistant/Treasurer
Kathy began working at the church in 2005. She is a native of the great state of Maine but has lived in Tennessee since 1989. Kathy is married to Milford Clark who is the store manager for the Piggly Wiggly in Decatur. They have two daughters. Amber Robinson is married to Todd Robinson and they have one son, Alex. They live in Athens. Brandy Giltnane is married to Levi Giltnane and they have a daughter, Skylar and they live in Kingston.
Kathy’s hobbies include reading, photography, cooking, and spending time with her grandbabies. She also likes to work in her flower garden and enjoys hiking and traveling.
Janie Goines
Custodian
Janie is our Church Custodian. She is also the Cafe Manager at K-Mart and is married to George Goines. She is a native of Michigan and has lived in the Athens area for 11 years. Her hobbies include embroidery and reading. And, she loves her dogs, Chaz, Buddy, and Jack and Jill. She has an adult son Jim who lives in Michigan and two stepsons Phil who lives in Texas and Chris who lives in Florida and a stepdaughter, Ginny who lives in Alabama. She also has six grandchildren. Jim has two daughters, Jamie Lee and Mia Rose. Phil has a son, Jared. Chris has a son Matthew. Ginny has two children, Ashley and Jonathan. Janie also has two great grandchildren.
